Mia Homsy is CEO and Co-Founder of the Institut du Québec, a socioeconomic research center that originally emerged from a partnership between the Conference Board of Canada and HEC Montreal. The Institut du Québec is now an independent non-profit organization associated with HEC Montréal whose mission is to identify policies and actions that improve Quebec society based on evidence, rigorous analyzes and best practices.
Previously, Mia Homsy notably held the position of deputy chief of staff for the Minister of Economic Development and the Minister of Finance of Quebec, in addition to acting as principal economic advisor to the leader of the official opposition.
She holds a master’s degree in international management from HEC Montréal and a bachelor’s degree from the Université de Montréal in international development.
She is frequently asked to comment, as an expert, on public finance, labor market and economic development issues.
