Recommerce (reverse commerce)
As part of a circular economy approach, the recommerce or online resale market offers retailers a new perspective anchored in a more responsible economy, which focuses on the sale of reconditioned, new or used items and which promotes reuse of products in very good condition by consumers at competitive prices.
On one hand, we will have the pleasure of welcoming Pierre-Luc Laparé, founder of one of those resale platforms, Golf Avenue, which is today the largest online retailer of used golf articles in Canada. In 2019, the Golf Avenue team launched a new transactional platform, Cycling Avenue, for cyclists that offers certified used bikes of all types.
On the other hand, we will welcome Pénélope Auvray, community manager of the Shwap Club, a company recently seen on the entrepreneurial show Dans l’œil du dragon, which is a clothing exchange club that facilitates reuse to counteract wasted clothing. Users have the option of subscribing to be part of the Shwap Club.
This panel will be a great opportunity to learn more about this unique business model.
