Psychological Harassment

Since June 1, 2004, the Act respecting labour standards has included provisions on psychological harassment in the workplace.

Psychological harassment is any vexatious behaviour in the form of repeated and hostile or unwanted conduct, verbal comments, actions or gestures. Such behaviour affects an employee's dignity or psychological or physical integrity and results in a harmful work environment for the employee.

In the wake of the introduction of the new provisions on psychological harassment, the CQCD has held several information sessions on the subject, particularly during its human resources symposiums. It will continue to keep its members informed of developments on this issue.
